The Pursuit Of Happyness (2007) Review

The Pursuit Of Happyness was an emotional rollercoaster. Generally people go to the movies to get away from reality. This film was a cold hard dose of reality. Many people can relate to this movie because many people struggle like it’s main character Chris Gardner. The film is very inspirational, but it makes you fight for it. You must endure many hardships in the movie until you get to experiance the climax. Will Smith and Jaden Smith worked amazingly together. It is the first time I have ever seen a father/son acting duo who played father/son in a movie. Will Smith should be recognized for his acting in the movie.
Watching this film made me wonder about the thousands of people who are or have been stuck in the same situation as Chris Gardner and have not made it. The millions of people who are victims of poverty. A memorable scene that stood out to me in the film was when a sports car filled with young wealthy people speed by a line of hundreds of homeless people waiting in line for shelter. This film was set in 1981 but America is still like that today. This movie gets you thinking about things like this which is what I really liked about it.
